Speaking of videogame classics, few weapons are as well-known and appreciated as the AK74, in all of its variations. This add-on was also created by FX0x01, which is actually a group of several modders working on different parts of the weapons they release, allowing them to create truly detailed contributions to our collective arsenal.

The Wattz is an updated model of the old-school Wattz present in the first two Fallout games, and its design is almost completely based on that weapon. You can paint it however you want, but I think it looks the best with the default black and yellow look.
One of the most loved mods by both users and creators on the Nexus is See-Through Scopes by Henkspamadres, which simply replaces the awful full-screen aiming when using a sniper scope in vanilla for something a bit more organic that also lets you see your surroundings. Among the most ubiquitous weapons ever known to gamer-kind is the Beretta M9 Self-loading Pistol, which owes its popularity to having been the standard sidearm for the US Navy and police forces for a long time.
This true American classic is capable of both semi-automatic and fully-automatic fire with the right modifications, and also features a great variety of barrels and grips to choose from.
Stark contrasts often come together to create truly unique aesthetics. Like a character wielding a Katana in post-apocalyptic Boston, for example. This mod adds an entirely new and detailed energy weapon with its own ammo type and over a dozen weapon attachments to keep things interesting.
Not only is it devastating to wield, but it also looks badass in the way only a weapon with heat-dispersion mechanisms can achieve.
Something really nice about Fallout 4 is the level of control you have over your weapons, and how much you can customize them to fit your needs. The M54 Gatling Rifle is the only thing in the Wasteland that can make you look more badass than a deathclaw, as well as more… alive, after some fire from this beast. Used by many armies worldwide ever since the s and currently employed by the US Secret Service, the Belgian FN P90 has earned a place in the collective imaginary thanks to its sleek bullpup design.
Modder Robesonb1 has brought this compact design to the world of Fallout 4, giving players the perfect weapon for inner-vault and urban situations, complete with custom animations, sounds, and high-quality textures.
This mod introduces the iconic rifle in four different variations, going from an old-school olive green presentation with a sniper scope to one with a vicious bayonet that looks more like a harpoon gun than a rifle.
Modder Hedieded definitely did, and his answer was to create a more complex and realistic ballistics system for the Wasteland. The effective range of weapons now plays a vital part in choosing the right tool for the right situation, as bullets now deal damage and wound targets differently depending on the caliber, shape, and mass of their IRL counterparts. While some players find the effective ranges of weapons in Fallout 4 too forgiving, others feel like some weapons are simply too underpowered to remain grounded in reality.
To address this issue, modder Vazeron1 came up with a rebalance patch that tweaks all weapons for a more realistic experience. Moreover, weapon types now have more contrasting strengths and weaknesses, justifying using something other than the Combat Rifle if the situation calls for it. This mod by Invalidfate includes four different Lightsabers varying in color and weapon equip animation, all of which actually emit light and can cast shadows.
While this is the only weapon-focused one, the author also offers much more Star Wars content. The Installation Assistant will then guide you through some configurations, such as your main use of the Windows OS to pre-set some key configurations that would work best for your use. You can also then customise the pre-set configurations as well. It would also ask you for the license key as Parallels can also help you activate your Windows install. How does Windows games really perform on a Mac with Parallels?
To start, I ran a couple of popular benchmarks that was made for DirectX Do note that DirectX 11 is actually rather dated in the Windows world. I ran the benchmark both at p as well as the Extreme HD preset. Both had very similar results. It seems that it would is at an average of fps. On 3DMark, most of the benchmarks ran at about 30 fps as well. From the visual experience perspective, it seems smooth.
But of course, this is far from the results of a native Windows 10 machine with an equipped with an RX XT. There were some rendering issues in the two underwater submarine scene in the 3DMark 11 benchmarks. You can see it in the video capture I took with my digital camera of the benchmark below. Both Unigine and 3DMark are of course synthetic benchmarks. I would have to really get somewhat deeper into the game before I can fully judge it.
From the video recording above, you can see that the eGPU can handle everything that is being thrown at it. More updates on this once I get some more time into the game. Update 2: I messed around the settings a lot more now.
It now seems that I was somewhat wrong in my initial assessment in the previous update. Parallels Desktop does a lot of magic with their Auto settings. The stuttering still happens as you will see in the video above.
However, whenever I change this setting, either to 1GB or something lower like MB, the framerates drop to fps whenever there is a lot of NPCs around. This is regardless when I run Fallout 4 at Ultra settings with a p, p or p resolutions. Fallout: New Vegas, on the other hand, ran extremely well. The short answer to this is that it would just crash upon loading. You can only run games that use DirectX 11, or if it has the option to only use DirectX 11 in its settings.
One potential option is to use the Direct X Control Panel dxcpl. It will depend very much on the game you are playing. If the game is forgiving to freezing moments, such as turn-based strategy, then you might still be ok with it.
For DX11 games, it seems like it really depends. My experience with Fallout 4 is a little iffy. It is sort of playable, but it stutters from time to time. I will be checking out more games over time and will update this article to share what else runs well on a setup like this. Parallels Desktop, after all, is still a virtualisation solution and the fact that I can even play any 3D games on it is an amazing feat itself.
To do so rather smoothly, albeit with certain games or 3D benchmark applications, at ultra-high settings on a p resolution is very commendable. No other virtualisation solution is able to claim the same. Tags: 16 desktop fallout games mac macos new vegas parallels virtual machine virtualisation vm windows. January 23, November 10, May 2, Reason why I put this quick one together.
Will try to update it as i try more games on Parallels.
