Horizon Zero Dawn is an action game in a post-apocalyptic future world inhabited by robotic dinosaurs that have destroyed modern civilization. The few surviving humans formed into small primitive tribes and confront mechanical monsters with primitive weapons combined with high technology.

The main character of Horizon Zero Dawn is a girl named Eloi. She was raised by a man named Rust, who is an Outcast. One day on a hunt, Eloi finds himself in an abandoned laboratory, where he discovers a Visar device with which he can see into augmented reality. To get to the tribe of Nora, the girl must undergo a rite of initiation. However, the tribe is raided by the cultist Helis and destroys the settlement. Heroine goes on chase after assassin.

During her journey, she learns many secrets about her origins and the formation of the world as she knows it now. The protagonist’s arsenal includes a bow with various types of arrows, including bursting and incendiary projectiles, bombs, slingshot, etc. Eloi uses a unique device – a nitemote that allows you to slow down your opponent’s movement with the help of ropes.

By destroying robotic creatures, the heroine collects parts and mechanisms from their bodies to craft various items and improvements. While hunting ordinary animals, Eloi can create medicine, traps, quivers and bags from skins and bones. A large open world consisting of various biomes is available for exploration. Each new location is inhabited by a different kind of dinosaur: Ryskar, Scavenger, Lentorog, Thunderbird, Fireburster, etc.

Tracking a robot called Longshanks, you can mark on the map all the secondary activities and points of interest. The game includes a full set of addons, among which is story addon Frozen Wilds, where is available a new storyline, a few additional types of enemies and weapons.
