The scanner used to work from the start with Win 8. Since the upgrade to Win 10 it no longer works. However I installed the latest Egistec driver package from the metabox website for Win 8. This includes a software package called BioExcess.
I have enabled and setup fingerprint login using this software. SAo the scanner works – BUT through a third party add on. I have tried all of the tips I can find on Microsoft websites and they have done nothing. I have installed all of the latest updates available for my system from Microsoft. So after stuffing around with this for some time I did a system restore back to just after the windows 10 Upgrade was installed ie prior to any Windows Updates and installing any “new” Egistec Drivers.
The fingerprint option appears in the Sign In Options but is greyed out. To enable the fingerprint scanning you must enable windows “Hello”. To do this you have to create a pin. Once that is done the fingerprint option should be enabled and you can setup fingerprint login. Yesterday’s upgrade to RS1 seems to have “fixed” the fingerprint reader issue – at least for me.

The drivers are up to date and it shows the device is working but windows 10 can not find it.
