Sorry to know that you are facing this issue. As Windows 10 Technical Preview is still in developmental stage, you may expect some compatibility issues as of now and some features or settings might not work as expected. The black screen issue could be related to display drivers and might get resolved by updating the display drivers. Without the correct driver, the hardware or device that you want to use won’t work properly.
Did you install all pending Windows Updates and also updated all device drivers after installing Windows 10 Technical Preview? Did you try to boot the computer in Safe Mode? If yes do you get the display screen? You may boot the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and check if you are able to get the display on the screen.
With Windows Startup Settings which used to be called “Advanced boot options” you can start Windows in different advanced troubleshooting modes to help you find and fix problems on your PC. Safe Mode with Networking starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services. If a problem doesn’t reappear when you start your PC in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers and services as possible causes.
Further, if you are able to get the display on the screen, then you may update the display drivers from the Device Manager to check if this helps. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists. Was this reply helpful?

In the latest build they have at least inserted your Lock Screen first so you know that something works properly. And then I wasn’t even letting the VM know about my second monitor. Some of the inexplicable flips and flops going on then might explain some of the “black screen” delay you are seeing.
For full effect make sure that you don’t have a maximized window for your VM. I assume that still works in W Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. This thread is locked.
